Water Fun

So there’s a knock on our door yesterday & we have no idea who would be knocking on our door. Open it up to find its my sister who’s home for the next week before her classes start back up. So she hung out with the kids until Rachel went to bed at 6pm. Then I went with her to the mall so she could exchange something & then we saw my parents at the mall and stopped and talked for a bit. Then we went to Wal-Mart. Fun times – right? We have plans to go to Adventure Island water park tomorrow. We were going to go today but our passport got messed up when they added the wrong water park. So we’re going to go tomorrow. Its going to be fun! My sister has a case for her camera that lets it go into water & not be damaged so expect TONS of pictures of the kids on Monday! Which also means tons of scrapping! Yay.

So today we are going to hang out at the house in the morning & then head over to my parents house so the kids can play in their kiddie pool. We bought it for them like a month ago & they haven’t been able to use it once yet. But my dad mowed the lawn today so we’ll let them have some fun. I hope Rachel doesn’t freak out and does good like she did at Elmo’s Splash Zone in Busch Gardens.

So I am 30 weeks pregnant today. WOW. Where have the last 30 weeks gone? Its crazy.

Rachel had a MRI yesterday & we got great news. The fluid in her head has lessened. So no sugary to have to remove some fluid. Woo hoo. She does have to get another MRI in February but as long & it looks good then she will only have to get MRI’s once a year instead of twice. YAY.

I’ve been on a scrapping kick again.

Rachels has her 1st day of therapy today

So Rachel starts a wrap & massage therapy today. Her foot doctor thinks that it over time it will help reduce the swelling in her right leg & foot. Now hopefully Miss Rachel will be a good girl & not scream through it. Fingers crossed. She doesn’t usually like people touching her legs & feet so this will be interesting. But hopefully over time she will get use to it & everything will be fine.

The sick bug came to visit

The sick bug has made an appearance at our house. Its been a good bit since they were last here so I was beginning to wonder where they were. I got it first and had a couple of ruff days where I just felt like crap. Troy is one day behind me & Rachel is two days behind me. Today Rachel seems to be having a bad day so hopefully she will feel like 10 times better tomorrow (which is the pattern that Troy & I followed). Like right now Rachel is snuggled up on the couch with her puppy laying her head down. I’m trying to hold her off until her usual nap time (9am) before I put her down. Both kids were up at 5am this morning. Yeah fun. So Troy is def going down with her. Maybe I can get a small nap in & then clean up a bit before they wake up.

So no ultra sound yesterday. My OB had some patients in labor and his appointments were behind for the day. So I could of had a 2 minute one or I could wait until my next appt and have a longer one. There really wasn’t a medical need for me to have one yesterday so I can wait until August. So I guess lots of yellow & green clothes.

Besides that we are doing good. Today is Charles first day of college. He had to leave here at 6:30 and his first classes hasn’t even started yet. Troy learned how to spell his name yesterday and its soo cute to hear him spell it. Rachel is a little climbing machine. She likes to climb up onto the couch and then someone has to help her down and then she climbs right back up.

I can’t believe its July 1st already. Where did June go? It’s crazy!

Some updates on the family: Charles starts college next Wednesday. Troy is becoming more verbal every day & now when he talks you can understand 90% of what he says. Some times he talks too fast (like his mommy) and then you can’t understand him. We taught him his name yesterday & its so cute when he says it. He thinks he is 3 and will be 4 in December.. Yeah nice try on giving yourself a extra year. Rachel is doing great. It rained a little yesterday when we went to Wal-Mart and she didn’t scream bloody murder when the rain hit her. She whined a little bit but that’s it. She’s now able to climb onto the couch and our bed. She likes to hold onto the side of her crib & jump up & down on her mattress. Crazy fearless girl! Pumpkin is doing great. I feel them move a LOT every day so that’s a good sign! I hardly ever felt Rachel move.

Last night at dinner I went around the table and asked Troy what everyone’s name was. He got his name, Rachel’s & daddy’s right. But when I asked him who I was he said ” A bear”. Nice right? So I just had to scrapbook that.

Things are looking up!

Charles has an appointment today with a college! If all goes well then his classes start on July 9th! He said that today he gets to pick his classes and talk to financial aide to get his GI Bill started. Things may finally be looking up for us. Things may finally be going our way. As long as he can get in this year! We can not go another year struggling. With his enrollment comes more money every month. Which will be really helpful! I mean really helpful. We’ll be able to live and not just survive. Just thinking about it makes me smile like a fool. But wow this is all happening so fast!

Went to Sea World yesterday

So we went to Sea World yesterday with my parents. Both kids loved it. Troy was amazed with the whales ( and the penguins, dolphins, sharks and seals). He loved everything! My mom brought her camera and took pictures.

Oh my goodness was it hot today! It was almost 100 degrees outside. Man it sucked. We went on a walk today with my dad and by the time we were half way done I was covered in sweat. So gross. But much needed. I gained 6lbs last month. Ick. Not the greatest but with Troy & Rachel I had already gained 20 lbs. So 6 compared to 20 is better but still its way to early for me to gain 6lbs…… Now my OB has me due on October 26th but according to the date of my last period I’m due October 30th. Yeah its only a 4 day difference but still which one do we go by?? So for now I’m going by October 30th as my due date. I just hit 19 weeks on Saturday.

I have to say I love technology! I’m sitting in bed on my netbook writing this while watching Lie To Me. So far its really good! Although I am upset that Secret Life of the American Teenager is on at the same time as Lie To Me. But I plan to watch Secret Life online at Fox Family tomorrow. But this just blows me away that I can sit here and type while watching the show.

I went to schedule Rachel’s second MRI & found out that they wanted to do an un-medicated MRI. They wanted to have be fully awake for the MRI & lie still the entire time…. There is no way she would go through with that. It would freak the shit out of her if we even tried. There was no way I was going to let them do that to her. She already has problems trusting anyone she doesn’t know.. She would be ten times worse if we let the doctors do this. I instantly said no way! She’ll only be 18 months old!!! My 2 year old won’t lay still for 30 minutes at home!! And you want my 18 month old to be FULLY awake and put into this machine?? NO! NO! NO! So the end result is that the MRI will be medicated.

When I was on the phone with the Neurology department the lady I was talking to me told me that they do this kind of MRI to 18 month olds all the time. That scares me! There are parents that would do that to their young toddlers? What kind of parent could do that to their child? I know the test is important but we were told that if shes awake or ‘asleep’ doesn’t affect the test results. So why put your child through the stress of it??

Tuesday Morning Rush

well not really but you get the point. First off a belated Happy Memorial Day. I was on vacation this weekend so I couldn’t make a post.. Well I could but I was having too much fun to stop and make one. My mom took a ton of pictures and as soon as she posts them I will share them. I really need to find my charger for my camera (or taking hubs into buying me a new one). My cell phone has been hijacked by the song Taps (a song they play at Military funerals). Its so sad that I had to turn my black berry off. I didn’t want to hear it again. But after talking to a wonderful tech lady with Verizon she has my new black berry Tour reserved for me at the store. So fingers crossed that my new one doesn’t get hijacked by sounds.

I applied to be apart of the Stolen Moments creative team. I have loved Amber’s deigns now for a while and I can’t wait to find out if I made it or not. I know she had to of gotten tons of e-mails for her CT call so I’m sure its not easy to be her right now. I almost didn’t apply but I figure that the worst thing that happens is that I don’t make it. And that’s alright with me. Then I’ll just have to keep expanding and growing my skill and apply again next time.
